The server-based PDFTron viewer is now included during server installation.

It can be used to view, print (without watermarks), redline, and comment (with or without attached redlines or other files) with 2D PDF renditions only.

It cannot be used for viewing:

  • Source documents
  • 3D PDF renditions
  • AutoVue redlines
  • Hotspots
  • In the PowerUser client

Other features include:

  • No client software installation is necessary
  • No configuration is necessary (or possible)
  • It is fast and can show almost any document within a few seconds after the initial (internal) rendition is generated.
  • It is supported by the VBScript Document.ClearRedlines method
  • It does not rely on aging technology
  • It is the same viewer used by Meridian Portal
  • It can be enabled once for all Meridian Explorer users in the viewer options in the BlueCielo Meridian Administration Console
  • It can be enabled once for all Meridian Power users by a new web server registry value UsePDFTron
  • Viewer usage can be tracked with new M--PTR (concurrent) and MN-PTR (named) type licenses. The licenses are claimed immediately when a vault or repository is opened that contains renditions and the viewer is enabled.
  • If PDFTron is not enabled, the default viewer settings are used
MRE-2775 AutoCAD thumbnail images created by AutoVue are now generated from the last saved view instead of the model view.
MRE-2878 Certain file formats that could not be shown in AutoVue remained locked by the viewer and prevented saving the file if it was edited in another application. Viewing the formats is no longer attempted so that the files are not locked and are available for editing.
MRE-2988 AutoVue is now prevented from creating a Logs folder on the Windows desktop.
MRE-3042 The Acrobat viewer now prints correctly if its Enable Protected Mode at startup and Enable Enhanced Security options are enabled.
MRE-3071 When a user does not have the View Content privilege for a document but does have the View Rendition privilege and views the rendition with AutoVue, if they double-click the viewer window to expand the window to full-screen, the rendition is shown correctly now instead of producing an error about the user not having the View Content privilege.
MRE-3128 If the Print all in black option is enabled in the AutoVue Print Document dialog box, the document will be printed in monochrome and override the default color settings for the printer. If the option is not enabled, the output will be in the printer’s default color scheme, whether monochrome or color.
MRE-3554 AutoVue installed as a desktop deployment now supports line widths in PDF output when pen settings are configured in the allusers.ini file.
